Physicians typically begin their day in the endoscopy unit before transitioning to the outpatient office setting.The Gastroenterologist will work alongside GI fellows and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal and hepatology conditions.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of gastrointestinal, hepatic, pancreatic, and biliary conditions.Diagnose and manage conditions including IBD, IBS, GERD, liver disease, motility disorders, GI malignancies, and gastrointestinal bleeding.Perform inpatient and outpatient endoscopic procedures, including:EGDColonoscopyPolypectomyPEG placementHemostatic interventionsProvide outpatient gastroenterology consultations and follow-up care.Participate in inpatient consultations and urgent/emergent GI care.Perform advanced procedures such as ERCP and EUS when appropriately fellowship-trained and credentialed.Collaborate with GI fellows and other physicians across the healthcare system.Coordinate transitions of care between outpatient practices, endoscopy units, emergency departments, and inpatient services.Partner with colorectal surgery, general surgery, oncology, radiology, nutrition, and other specialties in the management of complex cases.Participate in quality-assurance initiatives, peer review, and other clinical improvement activities. xhyhwjd Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the organization's EHR.Schedule & CallFull-time, Monday–FridayTypical day begins in the endoscopy unit and transitions to outpatient practiceApproximately 10–12 call assignments per month, shared with GI fellowsApproximately 1:5 weekend call, with fellow supportCombination of outpatient, inpatient, and procedural responsibilitiesQualificationsMD or DO from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited Internal Medicine residencyCompletion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowshipBoard Certified or Board Eligible in GastroenterologyEligible for medical licensure in New JerseyAppropriate credentials to perform standard diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic proceduresStrong clinical, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skillsAdvanced endoscopy training is welcomed but not requiredCompensationBase Salary: $450,000–$550,000Bonus: $30,000Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits packageThis is an excellent opportunity for a Gastroenterologist seeking a full-scope position with a combination of endoscopy, outpatient practice, inpatient care, and academic collaboration with GI fellows in the Hudson County area.
