Senior Oracle Database Administrator

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, perform work from within CONUS, and successfully complete GPO Public Trust security vetting.
Role: Provide senior database administration, development, maintenance, and operational support for GPO's Oracle environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Create, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle databases and associated Oracle Grid environments.
Manage Oracle RMAN backup, restoration, and recovery activities.
Lead troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
Maintain high availability and disaster recovery capabilities; plan and validate recovery procedures.
Execute database software upgrades, patching, server maintenance, and approved change requests.
Maintain database security and compliance; support continuity-of-operations activities.
Resolve ServiceNow tickets and support database-related application integrations.
Establish administration standards, automation practices, and operational documentation; submit weekly activity reports.
Required Qualifications
Minimum eight years of experience in the required database disciplines, with demonstrated Oracle expertise.
Hands-on experience with Oracle Database, PL/SQL, Oracle Grid, and Oracle RMAN.
Demonstrated proficiency in database provisioning, performance tuning, backup/restoration, HA/DR, security, and incident management.
Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and communicate with staff and management.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Oracle certification.
Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and other cloud database environments.
Experience with ServiceNow, monitoring tools, and secondary database platforms such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access.
